Helping Children to find their Hidden powers

Hanu Moves began with a simple question: How can we help our children to have more gratitude and build them into strong, confident adults with the strength to remain calm in a world that gets more and more chaotic every year?

Today, so many children are growing up anxious and unsure of the world around them, surrounded by screens and short bursts of instant gratification. Moments of stillness and real connection are becoming rare. We at Hanu Moves, are on a mission to change that.

As a father, Rich Hawkins watched his young son learn to navigate his way around this new world, one that rewards constant distraction instead of focus, and quick pleasure instead of lasting happiness.e wanted to give his son the tools to build not only his physical strength, but also help him to build his inner strength with a balance of strength, stillness, focus, and gratitude for life.

What first started out as a father trying to do the best for his son. Who was looking for a way of directing his son's energy and focus into something more positive and helping to bring him calm before bedtime, whilst teaching lessons for life that would last far beyond childhood. Has evolved into something more, and Hanu Moves has been created with the intent of helping parents and families to build strong more resilient children who can cope in a constantly changing world.

On a family trip to Thailand, Rich discovered Hanu the main character in Hanu moves. Hanu is based on the ancient story of Hanuman, the monkey god known for his courage, loyalty, and strength of heart. This was the missing link a character that could capture a child’s imagination while gently teaching lessons and values for life.

As the legend goes. When Hanuman was a young monkey, he woke one morning to see a glowing orange ball rising in the sky. Thinking it was a sweet mango, he leapt high into the heavens and tried to take a bite, but the fruit was actually the sun itself. Startled by his boldness, the gods struck him with lightning and hid his powers so he would forget them, and for years, Hanuman lived unaware of his own strength. But one day, when his friends were in danger, he was called to help. In that moment of courage, his powers returned, not because the gods gave them back, but because he remembered who he truly was.

That story struck something deep. Rich realised that every child is just like Hanuman, born with hidden powers of strength, courage, balance, kindness, and gratitude. They don’t need to find these traits somewhere out there. They already have them. They just need the right guidance to uncover them.

And in that moment, Hanu Moves was born.

What began as one father’s gift to his son became a project with a much bigger purpose: to help a generation of children grow up strong, balanced, and grateful. Ready to face life’s storms with calm hearts and brave minds.
